Nautilus - By Julie Henry

                                                                                                                        Self Portrait of Terah Ware

~ Nautilus ~

Written by Julie Henry
 ~ To Me ~

These doors open
Into a new room
A new story
And walls that whisper

You are...

Close the doors behind you
Seal off the shouts
The anger
The heartache and heartbreak
Silence those cutting words

Despair will not live here

You are...

Socrates and his pupils
The waves crashing against the cliff
Behind the looking glass
Time in a bottle
The lightning storm

You are.

That is one of the most interesting poems I have read for a long time. Full of emotion. Clearly written for a friend with love.
