I Am On a Quest - Travel Through Time

I Am On a Quest

I am on quest.
A personal excursion to find the better part of me.
A translation of what could have been or where I should be.

I am on a mission.
To conquer the lands that seem so far away.
To hear the words that will leave my lips on my dying day.

I am on a journey.
Where my arms become bridges to our lives.
Where I once stood will become a vacant sigh.

I am on a path.
That takes me across time to my past.
That travels to where my unspoken memories last.

Your Eyes - Stories of My Past

Your Eyes
By Terah Ware

Your eyes hold stories of my past.
They create ripples of emotions and water colored impressions that last.
Their intensity holds my attention
and I ponder on their depths;
only reliving memories that were merely sleeping.

Turns & Circles - For the Soul

                                                                                                                                                             Photography By Terah Ware

Turns & Circles

You were waiting for me to realize.
Turns & Circles are what I have.

Turns & Circles; that is what I do.

Look at what time has done for me.
A character that has sheer layers of pain and joy.
A soul that remembers.
Cries and wants to hide behind those great walls to help me gain control.
Designs a gate for a fortress so that someone can enter.
Wise man, give me the answer.

I beg you...

Let me just know.
That Turns & Circles get me no where for my Soul.

Once Again - A Poem For My Soul Mate

I have sat beside Kings.
Flocked with spirituals alike.
Turned my cheek to the cathedral's fortress.
Mocked the land beneath me.

I have kissed thy royal lips.
Climbed your castle's walls.
Bled a son.
Countless sons...

I have broken mirrors of reflections that are endless.
Gave wealth to the centuries.
Made piece with the moments.
Secluded my soul...
between your fading twilight.

I have rendered your aura with my candlelight.
Waxed thy precious memory in water.
Drifted to sleep in your coffin...
to find you here.

Once again.

Today's Dreaming - A Short Story

Today's Dreaming

She would glance over her shoulder to see if he was watching.
Occasionally dipping in and out of the sunlight.
Her half grin became translucent in the afternoon glow.  A memory that would radiate throughout the day.  Her casual and deliberate sway would rustle her modest dress.  When ankles became bare, his eyes would deepen in lust.  Their laughter and forbidden play swept the dock like the small waves that gathered around their hearts.
They were in love.
Time was with them when a pocket watch was tossed in the air.  A moment reminding them that this lifetime was unfair.
Bitter sweet sun rays danced and peeked through the eyelets of her parasol like little windows that were left open during morning hue.  Her face warm with such light and happiness that was fleeting.  For she softly opened her eyes to meet today's dreaming.

My Heart Wonders - A Personal Poem

Listen...

I have been silent for too long.
I need to tell you how I feel.

I want to reveal...

I try my best giving you what I know.

I'm not sure if it is enough for you or me.

My heart tells me that it is alright to let go, but will you miss me?

The path that I am on seems so hard and the fork in the road has arrived.

I want to know if I do not choose the path that makes my heart sing, will I regret it before I die?

Some days I think that I am a good teacher and other days I sit and wonder...

What if my Soul and Nostalgic Studio could really fly?

A Stay-at-Home-Dad

There is this quiet respect and admiration for my husband Jason...

Usually in the moments while I am traveling back and forth to school or I behind the door of my studio.

Other times it is when I am desperately missing Koen and Daddy.

I remember the decision that we made to have Koen home during the first three years of his life.

A decision that we both sacrificed to make happen.

We agreed that I would work and Jason would stay home...

Majority of people have no idea that Jason is a Stay-at-Home-Dad.

An envy that runs deep in our house.

A non-traditional way of life that stirs our emotions and confuses our roles as

a Father and a Mother...a Man and a Woman.

A decision that goes against societies expectations and what is thought of as being normal.

This is a path that is indescribable...

for the love of our Son.

Jason...you are an incredible Father.

A Man that puts his Son before himself...

"You will make my strength your own. See my life through your own eyes, as your life will be seen through mine. The son becomes the father, and the father...the son." ~ Superman

Nautilus - By Julie Henry

                                                                                                                        Self Portrait of Terah Ware

~ Nautilus ~

Written by Julie Henry
 ~ To Me ~

These doors open
Into a new room
A new story
And walls that whisper

You are...

Close the doors behind you
Seal off the shouts
The anger
The heartache and heartbreak
Silence those cutting words

Despair will not live here
Anymore

You are...

Socrates and his pupils
The waves crashing against the cliff
Behind the looking glass
Time in a bottle
The lightning storm

You are.

This Vessel

This vessel that crashes against each wave moves on.

Seeking out land, a shoreline, a home.

Stars guide me.

Sun, paint my golden path.

Lady, beautiful figurehead of my crew, lead me to serenity that I knew.

Mark my map and fill my hands with jewels from a lost treasure.

Fill my mast with winds of certainty.

Count my blessings to all that I have left behind.

Secure me with a compass that will lead me to what is mine.

This vessel that crashes against each wave moves on.

Innocence

 Innocence

She filled her vessel with what she knew.
Collecting her childhood memories.
More innocent than few.
A light, a ray, a whisper in the air.
Sweet tendrils of her golden hair.

My Masterpiece

Koen, I could never fathom until now how much a
soul could change me. How your birth created
ripples in my still energy and lapped the shoreline
of my existence. I never knew how silent I was
before you came into my life. How protecting
another soul was so valuable. You are so
pure...and I only strive to understand. I am
honored to be apart of your life...I love you.
